UFS (Union Française des Semenciers), created in 2009, represents more than a hundred companies active in the research and selection, production and marketing of seeds for agriculture, gardens and landscapes.
The UFS, a key contact, has two missions:
• to promote the know-how, performance and strategic role of seed companies in the agricultural and food sectors to stakeholders,
• to support members in properly understanding their regulatory and economic environment by providing operational tools (publications and events).
The UFS benefits from the strong involvement of its members through 2 business centers, 2 support centers and 6 sections which bring together 6 major groups of species:
• Beetroot & Industrial Chicory,
• Straw Cereals & Protein Crops,
• Forage & Turf,
• Corn & Sorghum,
• Oilseeds,
• Vegetable & Flower Crops.
A team of 14 highly committed people with complementary skills listen to members and interact with all agricultural and food stakeholders, as well as institutional partners (interprofessional organizations, federations, technical institutes, ministries, parliament, etc.).
At the French level, the UFS is a member of Semae, the interprofessional organization for seeds and plants, as well as Terres Univia and Valhor. It participates in discussions led at the European level by Euroseeds and internationally by the International Seed Federation (ISF), representing the voice of seed producers.
